Perfectly Penned in Style

I spent the weekend in the cool (actually COLD) indoors at a scrapbook crop!  Although I took several card projects to work on, I only got a couple of them completed.  However, I also spent some time talking to potential Stampin' Up customers and catching up with some great friends, so I consider it a productive weekend.

You will find that I like doing several of the same cards once I get started.  I believe that the assembly line method works best, and in this case I completed 8 sets of 6 cards, for a total of 48.  I got the idea for this card from Angie at www.mychicnscratch.com.  I believe the term is "cased".  Anyhow, I loved the simplicity and cleanliness that this card offers.  While Angie made a set of Thank You cards, I chose to make a set of 6 cards, using all of the colors in the Polka Dot Parade DSP, and all of the greetings included in the Perfectly Penned Stamp Set.  I decided to use the Happy Birthday and Thank You two times each, as they would be the most used.  I just love SU! products because they coordinate so well.

To gift these, I will putting them in a Clear Bags case that holds 6 cards with envelopes, and probably tie a coordinating ribbon around them. My family enjoys getting handmade cards that are all ready for THEM to send out to friends and loved ones :-).

The other project I worked on was done with kids in mind, and again, I made 8 sets total, but with only 4 per set, and changed it up a bit by using a different stamp set on 4 of them.  As you can see, I packaged them with a set of 8 crayons, and they will be used a gift for some young 'uns I know, so that they can add their personal touch with color before giving them out.  I used several old papers for these, a current stamp set called Greeting Card Kids on the first set, and a retired stamp set called Gift Givers on the second set.

I hope you have enjoyed these cards as much as I enjoyed making them.  Please leave a comment and be sure to follow my blog!  I am excited to be part of a "Pals Blog Hop" in mid August with "Stampin' Pretty Pals" group.  REALLY like what you see and want to recreate it?  Select the link on the top right to shop on my SU! If you love Stampin' you will LOVE the selection in our 2012 Holiday Mini. For you scrapbookers out there, our Designer Series Paper (DSP) is in sharp beautiful colors and a great quality.  It typically comes with 12 coordinating pages per pack, 2 of each design, with a different design on the reverse side.

Sharing old designs...

Hope you are having a good Sunday.  It is beautiful weather here in Topeka, but we sure would like some rain!!  I went to the pool yesterday and got a bit too much sun, so am staying inside today and "playing".

I have so many projects right now...  updating my blog, getting projects ready for a weekend Scrapbooking Crop in a few days, and getting a "card" basket ready for an upcoming Boys & Girls Club fundraiser, our annual Harley Party.  While looking thru the cards I have previously made, I ran across these two that I wanted to share.  Not all of the pieces to make these are available thru Stampin' Up any longer, but if we don't have that we have something comparable.  If you are interested, you can email me at greatauntbobbi@gmail.com or check out my website www.bobbimangas.stampinup.net

First, this is a fun card just to put a smile on someone's face.  Our Owl Builder Punch is great for so many types of cards, and we have the cutest owl Christmas paper and even Googlies coming out in our mini, being introduced August 1st.  Let me know if you would like a copy!

Next, this is an Easter card I made last year... sorry paper or Easter Blossom stamp set no longer available, but we have a great line of Designer Series Paper to choose from, some other Silhouette style stamp sets, and we still have that awsome Ribbon and the Framed Tulips Folder that go well with several card styles!!!

Hope you have enjoyed my past projects, and I look forward to sharing projects that I am working on with the current Stampin' Up line.  Keep checking back for more!!

Returning with a great recipe to share!!

Seems like forever since I have posted on here!  Well, yes!  February is a long time.

Been very busy these past few months trying for figure out what to do "next".  Well, I have found it, and I am loving it!

I am now a Stampin' Up Demonstrator.  I have been using this product since I started "crafting" years ago, but in all my years of doing home party sales, I have never sold it.  I don't know what I was waiting for.  It is a GREAT company and product!

Well, I hope to be posting more projects on here, goal of one per week, minimum.  You will see changes on my blog as I progress and learn more, but bear with me.  It won't happen overnight.

For now, I want to share a wonderful recipe with you all, so I think I will do it here.  Great thing about it being my blog... I can post what I want!!!

My husband saw this recipe in our Dillon's mailer we get every month or so.  We tried it and loved it.  I have shared it with a couple of friends this week and they too have enjoyed it.

Fluffy Carrot Dip

2- 16 oz  pkgs carrots, peeled and roughly chopped
1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/4 tsp. chili paste ( or 1/2 tsp chili powder)
1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground ginger

Bring large pot of water to boil, salting liberally. Cook carrots in boiling water, over med-high heat, for 20 minutes, or until carrots are tender; drain.  Transfer them to a food processor or blender.  Add remaining ingredients and process until the carrot mixture is light and fluffy.  Serve with celery sticks, toasted pita wedges, etc.  Personally, whole wheat scoops are my fave!
Refrigerate any leftovers. Serves 6-8 as an appetizer.
