Yesterday I posted the first of four cards I made with the Bootiful Occasions stamp set. I finished all the cards up today, my last full day of vacation in Branson. As my second card share, I decided on this one, my husband's pick of the four. This one really tested my patience at 11:00 Friday night, but mainly because I am a perfectionist, and had to have just the right colors in just the right places, and am just learning about my Stampin' Write Markers.
This layout idea was chosen because I had a Summer Starfruit and Midnight Muse paper scrap just the right size. I decided to add the Gumball Green to really pull the color out of the stamped image. I thought that 3/16" Corner Punch to round the edges would be a nice way to step down the colors and to draw the eye down to the image. This little rain boot stamp is SO cute!!! And what a nice little saying for someone that is going thru some difficulty. As my favorite Barry Manilow song says, "I made it thru the rain..."
While I had a card base in Raspberry Ripple, I still liked the lighter tone of Primrose Petals for "coloring" the clouds and adding the ribbon. By doing this, I was able to use all of the colors in our 2012-2014 In Color Collection, and what a beautiful pallet it is. Have a mentioned how much I like the new Ribbon Slides? Well, I do :-) For the final touch, I connected the three background colors and ran them all thru the Big Shot, using the Fancy Fan Folder (it reminded me of clouds) all at one time! This is a technique you will see again in the next couple of posts! I am really liking it.

Beautiful Vacation brings Bootiful Projects
While I am having a beautiful and relaxing vacation with my hubby, I decided to play with my Bootiful Occasions Stamp Set. For the next four days I will showcase a card with a different boot each day! Hope you enjoy, and are having a Bootiful Weekend!!!
Since it is coming very close to October, and the month of Halloween, I will start there. I just love this saying that goes with this adorable boot! While I did not bring a lot of my supplies on this trip, I did bring my Big Shot Die Cutting Machine and several accessories for it, so you will definitely be seeing some embossing and die cutting for the next four days :-), along with some woodsy backgrounds from our screened in porch at the condo!! Not the same as my Light Box I use to take photos at home, but it will do.
I am going to start with the last detail, because it is my favorite. I am really liking our new Button Slides, and tried to find a way to use my Pumpkin Pie 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon with it. It then dawned on me that I also had some Old Olive ribbon, and why not combine it. Loving the final effect!
The Pumpkin Pie card base is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Folder, layer #2 in Old Olive, edged with the Finishing Touches Edgelits, and the top layer, in Elegant Eggplant, embossed with the Chevron Folder. The image is stamped on Whisper White with Jet Black Stazon, colored in with the coordinating Stampin' Write Markers, and cut with the Labels Collection Framelits.

October "Therapy" Session & Birthday Organizer
Hope you are having a great week. I know I am!!! My hubby and I are vacationing in Branson, MO. So far, we have went to the Butterfly Palace, Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede, and did the Branson Zipline Canopy Tour on Thursday!!!! In addition, I am getting lots of crafting done, while Brad is out taking nature pictures.
Speaking of which, I finally got my 2nd project done for my October Card Party (what I call Therapy Sessions), which will be on October 19th at Planet Sub, 21st and Wanamaker in Topeka.
This one is a little different, as I will be offering TWO very specific projects at two VERY specific times. We will be making these together as more of a class vs. a come and go setting I usually have. The times are 4:45 or 6:15. I currently have 3 gals signed up for 4:45 and 2 more at 6:15. There is still room for more!!! If you want to make both projects, please let me know and sign up for BOTH times! Can't make this date? Get a MINIMUM of three people together and get with me to set a date and location for a private class :-)
Cost per project is $10. You will take away a finished product, as well as instructions for making more of your own. If you book a spot, but cannot attend, and cancel within 5 days of the class, I will expect payment anyhow. I am reserving this spot for YOU and preparing a kit for YOU. I will still get you the directions and kit to make it on your own at your leisure.
Project #1 is a take off of a project I did back in August (see more info below), and something that my friend Kathy kind of planted in my mind. It is a Birthday Organizer, an on the inside there will be 12 cards, 6 on either side, one for all 12 months. You can write a list of your birthdays (and other events) to keep you organized for card and gift giving.
Project #2 is what I made back in August and call my OWLganizer! You do not have to make it with the Owl print. As a matter of fact, only 4-5 of you can make it just like that one, unless I know before October 2nd to order more of the paper. I will also have a more traditional Christmas print that is beautiful!!! Either way, the inside will have a calendar on one side, and a "organizing" pocket on the other side, for receipts, shopping lists, etc.
RESERVATIONS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE PLEASE!! NONE TAKEN AFTER OCTOBER 14TH!!
When you reserve, let me know time, Christmas or Birthday, and Owl or traditional if doing Christmas. And again, I will have have limited Owl paper available, so the sooner the better if that is what you want.

One Simple Word
One of my projects on my "to do" list this week is a baby card for my friend Amanda. She just had a beautiful baby boy last week, and I didn't get it done before leaving on vacation.
It was so much fun working with my Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies for the first time today!! I can think of so many cards I can make with them, but for now, I think this was a good start.
Of course, I had to try my hand at a coordinating baby girl card as well. I am sure I will find a use for it soon, as several friends are expecting babies or grand babies in the next few months. I like the clean line effect that was created by the Adorning Accents Heart Folder.
I love how I could make both of these adorable cards with the Patio Party DSP, and showcase our new In Colors, including Midnight Muse, Raspberry Ripple, and Primrose Petals, along with a beloved favorite, Baja Breeze. For an added touch, I attached some buttons from a previous line called Twitterpated.
Don't forget about our SEPTEMBER ordering special, where you can get a 10 yard spool of the 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, for every $40 your spend. See details here.
What do you think of that "wood" background? Yep!! That is the picnic table on our screened in porch, while vacationing in Branson, Missouri at the Cabins at Green Mountain. And just before I set up this blog post, I spent a lovely 15 minutes in our "private" hot tub on the porch, with a glass of wine from Stone Hill Winery. I am getting tons of Therapy this week!!

Sharing Friends Creativity- Post 2
My second friend's share this week is a couple of cards that I made at a recent scrapbook crop. These were make and take cards with Karen Herrmann. You can go here to check out Karen's blog and projects.
Karen used used some of our beautiful new DSP for the two cards that she designed for us to make. While I made what you are looking at, they were inspired by her!! Needless to say, I came home and ordered the die and stamp set on the fall card, and the DSP and border punch on the other one. What an enabler!!!

The first card uses a variety of embossing plates to make the leaves pop!
She really utilized some of our Holiday Catalog items, including the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and the Autumn Accents Bigz Die, along with the Orchard Harvest DSP. What a gorgeous card!!
The second card uses a new DSP that I just had to have. Seeing it in person made me LOVE it. It is called Comfort Cafe, and a great combination with the Forever With You stamp set and Window Frames framelits dies. We stamped the image and sponged another color over the middle to create the 2-tone effect. NICE!
Hope you have enjoyed my creativity shares. I will be back soon with more of my own!!

Art Therapy Explained
My Therapy is a name that suits my paper crafting hobby well. While my husband, and some others, have wondered about me using the name Therapy in my blog name, I have insisted on it. Just today, an article was brought to my attention by a fellow Stampin' Up demonstrator. It is called The Therapeutic Value of Art Forms, and I have included a small piece of it below.
"The American Art Therapy Association (AATA) defines art therapy as “an established mental health profession that uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages. It is based on the belief that the creative process involved in artistic self-expression helps people to resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and self-awareness, and achieve insight.”" To read the entire article, click HERE. This was written by Shantha Nair-Kalia. If you don't already have a hobby of some art form, you might reconsider after reading it.

Googly Gifts
While vacationing in Branson, MO, I am taking a couple of days to "play" and catch up with some projects. My hubby is a nature photographer, and is taking advantage of our location to go out and find some great photo opportunities. Like landscape and nature photography? You can check out his work at www.bradmangasphoto.com
Anyhow, here is my latest project... CASEd from my friend and upline, Sherrie Gross, at Stampin' Sunshine.
I am making several of them for a preschool class that one of my favorite little girls is part of, and a few extras for some kiddos in my life.
When I make multiples I tend to work in an assembly line process, and do certain portions before putting the final project together. Here is a photo of my final assembly line pieces, all set aside, 15 of each, with some simple directions for you if you want to create some of your own.
Once I had all the pieces cut and ready, I started assembly. Here is a picture of what it should look like after scoring and constructing, just waiting for the Kit Kat to be attached. Note the direction that it is folded, per the score lines above, and then there is a couple of pieces of Sticky Strip just waiting for that Kit Kat.
Additional "ingredients" not listed noted above- Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP, Basic Black and Tangerine Tango card stock, Two Tagz Bigz Die, and Googley Ghouls stamp set.

The first card is made with the Button Buddies & Word Play stamp sets.
She said her inspiration came from Lorri at Confessions of a Stamping Addict.
Check out the inside!!! Too cute, right!?!?!!?
The second card is done using a something that is becoming pretty popular, call a pinwheel technique.
I just love her color choices of Pool Party (one of her favorites) and poppy parade (discontinued color).
Come back on Wednesday to see who else has space on my blog this week! You wont' be disappointed :-)

A Sunshiny Hello
Ok... I am SO addicted!
I have already packed my crafty stuff to take with me, and decided I just had to make just one more card for the Freshly Made Sketches #53 challenge.
Thank goodness for scraps, backup adhesives, old cutters, etc...
Not my best creation, by far, but not awful either. Loving all the polka dots, inspired by my scraps of the Polka Dot Parade DSP. If you follow my blog, you will have figured out by now that I just LOVE this paper pack!!
Watch tomorrow, as I share some work from a talented friend, Ms. Sherrie Gross!!

BOOOO...EEEEK!!!
I have seen tons of project made with our great new Halloween Paper, Howlstooth and Scaringbone, along with the fun Googly Ghouls stamp set, but this is my first card creation. The sketch layout, in the Pals Paper Arts (PPA143) challenge, was my inspiration.
And I just had to show off my awesome new Witch Hat purchase when I photographed the card. It was a great find at TJ Maxx last week!! I flipped the card sketch image, and worked the circle a little differently, in order to make the most of the Spider Web Embossed background. Note how I fit the orange circle into the exact line up of the black web. Now that was bigger "challenge" than the sketch.
I know the bow softens the scariness of the card, but I just felt like it needed that final touch. I love making bows now that I have my 10 Second Bow Maker!!!
Card Ingredients:
Paper- Basic Black, Tangerine Tango, and Basic Gray cardstock, with Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP.
Ink- Jet Back Stazon
Stamp Set- Ghoolish Gouglies
Misc. Tools & Accessories- Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Spider Web Embossing Folder, Googlies (eyes) and Modern Label Punch

Winning Ticket!!
Did I mention how much I love challenges? Not only life challenges, but card challenges as well!!! I came up with a card this week, to work with two current challenges, in an attempt to get as many in as possible before I leave on vacation.
I am just loving Naki & Nena's Double Dare Challenge, and this one is #5. They each a rule, unknowing to each other until it is announced. We have had some fun combinations, but this one beats all!
While my pick was to use the Perfectly Preserved stamp set.
Card Ingredients:
Paper- Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, and Island Indigo card stock, with World Spectacular DSP.
Ink Pad- Cherry Cobbler
Stamp Sets- Perfectly Preserved and Blue Ribbon
Misc. Tools & Accessories- Ticket Builder Punch, Cannery Set Framelits, Calypso Coral 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon, Sticky Strip, and Stampin' Dimensionals

This week, Naki picked argyle...

And... my sketch was from this week's iSpy Sketches.
And from those two great challenges, I came up with this. I figure I can
save it to give to my dad when he finally has the winning lottery ticket!!
For a little added fun, I stamped an image on the inside as well.

Sending Love & Sympathy
My card for the Fab Friday challenge is quite possibly one of the "softest" cards I have ever made, and I love it! Can't avoid soft with the colors in the challenge.
I just got this set, and thought it was a perfect fit for these colors. The only ribbon I had in any of those was So Saffron and really wide, so I folded in and ran it thru one of our great new Ribbon Slides. I am still not sure I like the pearl combination with, though it needed "something", and while I thought I had ALL of our brad sets, I am missing the subtles collection. Go figure!!
My favorite thing about this is that I got a great card with ONE stamp set, including the message inside. This Love & Sympathy set is just beautiful, and I can't wait to use it on more projects.
Card Ingredients:
Paper- Basic Gray, So Saffron, and Whisper White card stock, with Floral District DSP
Ink Pads- So Saffron and Sahara Sand
Stamp Set- Love & Sympathy
Misc. Tools & Accessories- Jewels Basic Pearls, Ribbon Slides, So Saffron Ribbon, Decorative Label Punch, XL Oval Punch, Ticket Corner Punch (discontinued), Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, and Snail Adhesive

One week from today I will be checking into our vacation spot at the Cabins at Green Mountain, and just the thought of that gets me excited for fall, my favorite season of the year!
When I read what the Freshly Made Sketches challenge was for this week, I knew I could make it fit my mood, and this beautiful new Wonderfall stamp set I got this past week!! Since they are celebrating their one year anniversary, and let us pick ANY sketch from the previous year, I picked this one.
Card Ingredients-

Ink Pads- More Mustard and Cajun Craze
Stamp Sets- Wonderfall, Tiny Tags, and Four Seasons (hostess only)
Misc. Tools & Accessories- Autumn Accents Bigz Die, Jewelry Tag Punch, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch 3/16" Regal Brads, Stamping Sponges, Snail Adhesive, and Stampin' Dimensionals

Clean and Simple Challenges
I have been so busy finishing up my Blog Hop earlier in the week, and getting ready for my Therapy Sessions... a.k.a Card Party this weekend, that I just about missed a couple of fun challenges!! So, in the interest of time, I made these cards Clean and Simple, with no frills. Well, a little of that has to do with the fact that I have all of my fun tools packed already for class, so I was limited on supplies to work with!
So, for the first challenge card I created tonight, The Paper Players, wanted us to use three colors.
I pulled out a fun set that I had never used, and now I can think of so many uses for it. You're My Type is a great little stamp set, but unfortunately it is discontinued. Sure glad I got it when I did!
Next, I wanted to play along with Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge #4 also. These gals are so much fun. They each pick a "rule" for their weekly challenge. This week's rules were:
My choice was to use chevron stripes. I. Heart. Chevron. :)
So, I pulled out my Festival of Prints DSP Paper Stack once again, and decided to work with the awesome Chevron Design. Well, when I was looking for an image large enough to use only one stamp on the entire card, my Word Play set jumped out at me. And of course, with a saying like that, you must have hearts, and the Jewels Basic Pearls gave just a little extra touch.
Card 1 Ingredients-
Paper- Basic Black, Baja Breeze, and Basic Gray card stock, with Festival of Prints DSP Paper Stack
Ink Pad- Stazon Black
Stamp Set- You're My Type (discontinued)
Misc Tools & Accessories- Basic Black ribbon, Sticky Strip, and Snail Adhesive
Card 2 Ingredients-
Paper- Very Vanilla card stock and Festival of Prints DSP Paper Stack
Ink Pad- Cherry Cobbler
Stamp Set- Word Play (see below)
Misc Tools & Accessories- Full Heart Punch, Jewels Basic Pearl Large, Stampin' Dimensionals, and Snail Adhesive

French Foliage Folio
I created this a few weeks ago, but decided to wait to share it when I heard that the September
Blog Hop was showcasing Fall Flair. I had bought these small legal pads in hopes of using them for another project, and was a little dismayed when it didn't work out. So, I pulled out my Grid Paper and Simply Scored tool, and set out to find another use for them. Hence, my French Foliage Folio...
I thought that the perfect compliment to this beautiful set of leaves, was the
bird and saying from the Language of Friendship stamp set...
Then, to put the perfect finishing touch on it, I used coordinating card stock
and ribbon on the inside to cover up the binded edge of the paper pad...
Project Ingredients-
Paper- Night of Navy, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, and Very Vanilla card stock
Ink Pads- Night of Navy, Cajun Craze, and More Mustard
Stamp Sets- French Foliage and Language of Friendship
Punches- 2 x 1 3/8" Oval (XL), Bird Builder, and Decorative Label
Additional Tools & Accessories- 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon (More Mustard), Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Snail Adhesive, Sticky Strip, and Stamping Sponges

September "Therapy Session" Project
I am running out of hours in a day, and trying to keep up with all these great card challenges, while
getting in gear for my September "Therapy Session"... a.k.a. Card Party Buffet. Luckily, I was able to participate in the Mojo Monday Challenge and create my final project, at the same time.
I had previously shared a fun little project using the Googly Ghouls, and had
promised one using the new Perfectly Preserved set as well.
I loved that I was able to incorporate one of the fabulous ribbon colors
that is part of our Back to Spool special this month.

Shake Your Booty Challenge Card
Hope you all are all having a good weekend! I spent my day at a Scrapbook Crop with some wonderful gals in Topeka. Shelly and Stacy do 'Crops for a Cause', and put on some of the best crops I have attended!
Well, I got a lot of visiting done, a little bit of marketing, and a few projects. The main card I worked on was for some current card challenges I am participating in, and my first time doing two challenges with one project.
First, lets talk about the gorgeous colors of this card, inspired by the Pals Paper Arts (PPA 142) Color Challenge. What a color palette...
And then, the inspired layout challenge by the gang at Fab Friday, a brand new card challenge group...
Now, for my creation based on both of the above, with the awesome Bootiful Occasions stamp set in our 2012-2013 Catalog...
I can't wait to make some other cards from this Bootiful Set!!! I already have some in mind.
Card Ingredients-
Paper- Elegant Eggplant, Lucky Limeade, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White Cardstock
Stamp Sets- Bootiful Occasions and Distressed Dots Background
Ink Pad- Elegant Eggplant
Tools & Accessories- Spider Web Embossing Folder, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (Pumpkin Pie), and Brushed Bronze Designer Buttons
